Following the review by Welsh Government of qualifications for 14 – 19 year olds, these two cohorts of students are the first to undertake the new suite of GCSE qualifications in Wales. These include new style GCSEs in English Language and Literature, GCSE Mathematics and GCSE Numeracy. Rather than a continuation of previous qualifications, these GCSEs are the start of a new set of rigorous skills based qualifications that are designed to meet the requirements of colleges, universities and employers. This new measure is the percentage of students that achieved 5 or increasingly passes at A*-G, with at least 3 of these passes stuff in GCSE qualifications. Also, 58% of students achieved the new Level 2+ measure. This new measure is the percentage of students that achieved 5 or increasingly passes at A*-C, including English and mathematics, and with at least 3 of these passes stuff in GCSE qualifications. Dr Vince Browne and Mrs Fiona Greville commenting on the results said ‘These results are testimony to the combined nonflexible work and dedication of students, staff and parents. We are extremely proud of all of our students and remain veritably single-minded to our aspiration to unzip the very weightier outcomes for each and every student in our school’.     A Level results 2017  Once then Year 12 and 13 pupils at Llantwit Major School were triumphal without achieving an outstanding set of A Level, AS Level and BTec results, with 97% of students obtaining at least 3 A levels. The vast majority of Year 13 pupils achieved places on their chosen courses in their first nomination universities and are looking forward to commencing their stratum courses.
